If you convert OM606 engine from sedan to fit your G-Class you can NOT use old oil pump designed for sedan "shallow" oil pan.

Mercedes G-Class deep oil pan allows you to mount OM606.910(1995-W124) or OM606.912 TURBO(1997-1999 W210) diesel engine directly to your G-Class without interfering with front axle and frame.
